Now that his latest baby, the Xbox 360, is on sale (although you need good luck to find one in the shops right now), Microsoft's Chief Xbox Officer, J Allard, could be forgiven for sitting back, putting his feet up and blandly extolling the virtues of his brainchild. But Allard doesn't do bland - he is a gamer and a thinker - and in an interview with Edge Magazine, he chose to expound his vision of growing the games market, taking a mild swipe at Sony's esotericism in the process. | ||

| It's pretty arrogant to try to teach Sony something about 'taking a more customer-centric view' and I don't think that Allard is in the position to say something like that. Microsoft still hasn't sold nowhere near the number of consoles that companies like Sony or Nintendo have shipped. Despite it's success the Xbox is still far from mainstream and looking at the games that will be released for the Xbox 360 I don't think it will be anytime soon. |

| rnmboon, you could have said those EXACT same comments in 2001 before the original xbox launch. But here we are, years later, and the noob has sold 20million consoles, with 2million on the premier online network (xboxlive_. I think Allard has done a helluva job, and can say anything he damn well wants to. |
