I don 't know about NIS, but I've really soured on NAV since their new pricing policy.
I've always been an upgrader...buy the new version when it comes out. That has especially true with NAV, since an upgrade price NAV 200? was about $19, and the yearly renewal of the defs was the same price. Why now get the latest and greatest and a new year of defs instead of just the def subscription. Well, my defs ran out in late October, right when NAV 2006 came out. So, upgrade time...NOT. The upgrade price was $39.95...???? So I checked for the full version, never bought it before price....$39.95!!!!????!!! WTF....I e-mailed Symantec to see if this was the case and find out why the screw-over of loyal customers (myself since NAV-pre Win 95). Al they said was confirming the upgrade price of $39.95. I'm using AVG now....$29.95 for prog and 2 years of defs, not one. |

Note that it has been up there for about a month now, so it won't be there much longer.

| I remember reading a round-up of various AV programs performed by ZDNet Australia. AVG was near the bottom as far as catching threats went. |
