Xbox 360 Will-Fail-In Japan According to Nintendo | |

The Xbox 360 faces an uphill struggle against its rivals in the Far East, according to Nintendo of America VP Perrin Kaplan, who claims that "very few people are aware of or anticipating Xbox 2 at the moment" in Japan. Speaking in an interview with US website IGN, Kaplan discussed the prospects of Nintendo's next-generation console, Revolution, and its rivals from Microsoft and Sony in the Japanese market. | ||

| That's pretty much been known for a couple of months now, no matter what - Japan have no interest in this console once again. Microsoft said they had learned from their mistakes with the last Xbox overseas in Japan - but their showings over there had just the same mistakes as before. I mean, they don't even have an RPG for the launch in Japan, that pretty much ends it there and then. |

I am gonna have to disagree 100%.
Microsoft has done a 100% turn with the Xbox 360. Japanese friendly games are finally now in development for the 360. They have the developer support, and the advertising. They had assistance with console design by the Japanese, made smaller controllers for Japanese hands. In addition, they are seeing trends that show increased interest in the Xbox 360, with a 22% current interest, vs. 2% previously. With the addition of brand awareness of the Xbox 360 Lounge in Japan, Japanese commercials, a 2005 launch for Japan, and many Japanese specific games, Microsoft learned from it's mistake and will no doubt drastically increase their marketshare. With continued and consistent rumors about the PS3 pushed to 2007 because of the Sony's current falling, I can see this to be a pretty big winner worldwide. |
