A new Trojan horse is redirecting Internet users to pornographic Web sites by exploiting an old vulnerability in Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE). The JS/Seeker-E script can arrive by e-mail or can be embedded into a Web page: When a user opens the e-mail or clicks on the Web page, the script is activated. Once activated, Seeker attempts to change the user's IE settings, such as the start page and search settings, and will redirect the infected user to a porn site. | ||

#3 - The article is a bit unclear on that as it mentions this was first fixed back in October of 2000 and would only impact users who have not patched.
It then goes on to talk about a different vulnerability found last week. |

Hmm, when you go to www.free-mp3-files.com it immediately asks you to install some weird third party ActiveX control.
If you do a search on ayb.exe you'll find lot's of sites inviting you to install it. It's not a bug in IE, it's a trojan. Unfortunately most people click Yes. :( |
