Furthering its leadership position in the DVD-on-a-chip market, National Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE:NSM - news) today introduced the NDV86xx, the latest generation of National® Mediamatics(TM) integrated chips. Manufactured on a .18-micron technology, the chips deliver a customized combination of high-end audio and video capabilities with low power consumption. Building on the strength of the Mediamatics NDV8401 and NDV8501, the new NDV86xx family of chips delivers a cost-effective, flexible and highly competitive technology solution in the rapidly growing DVD market. ``In recent months, the Mediamatics line of DVD processors has been increasing its market share in a wide range of DVD products,'' said Kent Goodin, vice president of the Mediamatics Hardware Division. ``Much of this new design success is due to manufacturers demanding higher capability and on-chip integration, which is exactly what the Mediamatics brand processors deliver.'' | ||
