New Line Home Entertainment's "Rush Hour 2" DVD narrowly beat out Universal Studios Home Entertainment's "Jurassic Park III" in head-to-head competition during their first week of sales, according to VideoScan research.
But the latest release of the "Jurassic" trilogy scored big on VHS, coming in at No. 2 on VideoScan's sales chart for the week ending Dec. 16, just behind the Walt Disney Co.'s "Pearl Harbor" for the same VHS frame.
The "Rush 2" DVD was produced by Alita Holly, who is largely responsible for helping to create the studio's much-copied "infinifilm" DVD navigation system.
The infinifilm system allows DVD viewers to skip to such bonus materials as documentaries, director commentaries or any number of additional material without having to move out of the original video itself, making for the most seamless DVD viewing experience.
