| Apparently Microsoft prefers to play nice, for now, with a competitor that it knows has peaked and appears to be not much of a future threat to MS. Google, on the other hand, can cause damage to both AOL and MS's business'. If AOL and MSN Messenger are made compatible this alone may slow down Google's growing online empire. A joint music service may slow the growing distance between Apple's iTunes and other music services in the public eye. |

As long as other companies don't make players as good as the iPod, I doubt a joint-anything will slow Apple down.
