I think that blogs are fine from those who are recognized as authorities on a particular subject - INETA speakers, book authors, members of product teams, etc.
Frankly, I don't care what some guy has to say about MCE, unless there's reason for me to believe he knows what he's talking about. If he's on the MCE team, he's worth my time. If he's in the press corps and Microsoft has given him a copy, so he can write a review, he's worth my time. If he's some no name with a blog, he's not.
If no name bloggers are mixed 'n matched with known authors and respected authors (no, I don't pretend to say that all the non blog articles posted here are from respected authors), this site becomes much less useful for me...I can filter on my own, I come here to benefit from others doing most of the filtering for me.
