Office XP Update: Service Pack 1 (SP-1) Released | |

As we exclusively revealed last week, Microsoft has today posted Office XP Update: Service Pack 1 for download. Here is the blurb from the official Microsoft SP 1 page: Office XP Update: Service Pack 1 (SP-1) provides the latest updates to Microsoft Office XP. SP-1 contains significant security enhancements and stability and performance improvements. Some of the fixes included with SP-1 have been previously released as separate updates. This service pack combines them into one integrated package, and it includes a number of other changes designed to improve the reliability and performance of your Office XP programs. | Yes, worked well here too (MS sure has put out a lot of goodies today). Unfortunately, the one thing I wanted it to fix, the line-wrapping issue in Outlook, is not fixed -- even though the revision list article seems to say it is! Maddening. |

They also didn't fix the MAPI send problem where Outlook 2002 doesn't present the correct subject text when emailing from within Internet Explorer.
Instead of putting the page name as encoded in the HTML (i.e. the name that typically shows up in the window title bar), it posts something totally useless like "Emailing: comments.htm". This annoys the hell out of me and is a terrible productivity killer since I email a ton of pages a day. This may well be an IE6 bug but I'm not sure. TL |
