Fujitsu-Siemens launches Longhorn ready notebook | |

INTEL CUSTOMER Fujitsu Siemens has announced a workstation "in notebook format" that uses the 780 Pentium M, which it figures clocks at 2.26GHz. The Centrino based "workstation and "notebook" Celsius H320 can support up to 2GB of DDR-2/533, and supports 256MB Open GL PCI-Express configurations. The machine has a 15-inch high res display, and includes BIOS and HDD passwords, as well as an optional PC Card Smartcard reader. | ||

| It looks like a fine machine with great specs. Was it necesary to add the "Longhorn ready" marketing BS since Longhorn itself isn't ready? Seems bogus to me, but is probably an effective technique to market the machine to technically-challenged aflluent people who want the latest and greatest gadgets and who love buzzwords. |

Microsoft has published specs for their Longhorn-ready PC program.
I think the ones available online are still preliminary, however, OEMs probably have more hardened specs now. The documents define a Longhorn-ready vs. a Longhorn capable PC (capable basically means it can run LH but not with the higher-end UI features). |
