Shhh... the open source folks live by PHP. We don't want them driven to fall on their swords or something.
At my last job, a few really gifted PHP programmers developed a very complex PHP web application. It was sure pretty and full of great features, but, boy, was it a major dog in terms of speed (on a fast intranet, even). |

| I may be putting my foot in my mouth as I didn't RTFA, but isn't it a given that interpreted script is going to be slower than compiled binaries?? Apples & oranges. |
