So why not google or maybe what do you use? True the results are overwhelming but, generally I get what I'm lloking for in the first page or two. |

| The newsgroup search function in Google is one of the major reasons I use it as my primary search engine. |

hello everyone,
anyone using blinkx as their primary search tool? thinking of using it, but i'd like to hear from someone with some experience with it before adding yet another program to my hard drive. |

Google IS starting to disappoint me.
It used to be the most relevent sites (like maybe the manufacturer of what you were looking up?) Were at the top of the list. Now it's who is paying them the most money it seems. I've said it before, I'll say it again. Going public will be Google's down-fall. Now instead of impressing users, they have to impress share-holders. Users always lose in that scenario and will move on as the services become more "Shareholder" oriented. TL |

If it's a search, and it requires an installation, make damned sure it's not Spyware. "Search" is Spyware's favorite Target. Google it to see how others feel about it. TL |

#2, I've found that Google has been less relevant opposite my needs, too.
While not nearly as popular, Yahoo search has seemed to return much more relevant resources based upon what I have searched for - largely tech stuff - even *nix related materials, etc... Perhaps engines are better at different types of search. I've tried answer.com recently, and while it has far fewer resources, in the areas that is does provide returns, they are really good - complete. |
