A published report claiming that Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer told Asian government leaders that Microsoft believes that Linux violates more than 200 software patents has put the outspoken Microsoft executive on the Linux hot seat, yet again. Microsoft officials said Ballmer's remarks were taken out of context, and are offering a transcript of his statement, to make its case. | ||

| "We actually think our software is far more secure than open source software." This comment is opinion, not fact. Plus, the poor use of English doesn't help him sell Windows to foreign governments where language is meaningful. Instead of "actually think" Ballmer should say "strongly believe". There is implied weakness of conviction in his words that won’t get past his listener. Put “Dude” in front of his sentence and it sounds more like Bill and Ted than Bill and Steve. |
