Microsoft on Monday reached important legal settlements with rival Novell, and with a trade organization that had backed the European Union's legal action against the company. The software giant said it has reached a $536 million settlement with rival Novell over legal claims between the two companies related to Novell's NetWare operating system. | ||

Everyone: remember to file our class action suit for MS's using the word "Word" years after we discovered that it describes a collection of letters that when spoken produces a sound that duplicates linguistic speech having specific meaning... blah, blah. We'll be rich.

Anyways - ON TOPIC - why is Novell filing charges against MS for Wordperfect? I thought that Novell had unloaded all rights to WP to Corel? |

Man, someone buy MSUCKS a hug and quick...
#5, relax...the country has been around a long time - its mood swings from time to time as events unfold...we'll see Presidents from both parties along the way - just as we always have... MS settled, with Novell to pave the way to settle larger cases in Europe - Novell used that to cash in...That too, will balance out over time. It was a very smart move...cheaper up front than the case with the EU and certainly far less costly over the long haul. The real winners are Europe's smaller OEM builders facing losses owing to watered down OS'es forced on them by their masters...The same sort of wise men MSUCKS would like us to answer to.
