IE exploit is top of the hacks | |

A Microsoft Internet Explorer exploit represented the highest number of hacking attacks in the second quarter, according to figures from ScanSafe. The London-based security company said that the No. 1 hack was Exploit.HTML.Mht, which attempts to download and install a malicious program on a computer by using a security breach in Microsoft's IE browser software. The exploit was used to target almost twice as many organizations as other exploits, ScanSafe said. | ||

#1 -- my thought also. I switched to Firefox months ago and have never looked back. Having my web browsing pop-up and ad free is wonderful.

| Well, when IE dominates 95% of the browser market, it would make sense that hacks would attack IE as opposed to browsers that are rarely used. |

| Um, no. IE is the only one with exploits that are highly advertised. Firefox exploits are there running rampant in the wild, but not as noticeable as IE. With IE's domination of the market, of course you will see more exploit information. Makes sense to me! |

All software has security problems. Except unlike IE, Firefox isn't weldet to the OS. So any security issue in firefox is therefore automatically less critical than an IE security issue. |

| Firefox "appears" to be more secure as hardly anyone is using it. Once (if) it reaches popularity, it too will see the light of hackers. |
