Microsoft aims high with Media Center update | |

Striving to reignite interest in Windows XP, Microsoft on Tuesday is slated to unveil the latest version of its Windows XP Media Center Edition operating system. At a launch event in Los Angeles, Microsoft will position Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 as its best operating system for consumers. The company is set to announce that it has sold over 1 million copies of the product to date and that it expects to sell at least 19 million more by 2007. | ||

We've built the new units, already. AV based and SFF based. Two channels for smaller OEM's have had it since 09 Oct. and a handful of builders prepared systems for the launch and authorized sales, which began at 12:00 Noon, today. It is a great update - we've loved working with it for the past several months in prepartion for this. The new installer and approved HW list make it easy for builders, so you should begin to see systems appearing, soon. Frankly, I cannot see myself ever building or using any other form of PC for the home
or even my office ever again - doing product and software demos on one is so much better and easier. Just working is a lot more enjoyable - knowing that the content I want is going to be available when I want it. |
