I don't know if MS' readers do, but some readers can setup low voltage feedback loops or use other methods to check if the finger is live.
#3 - I'd hope that the reader at your government facility does this. If so, you won't need to worry about severed fingers :) |

| Does anybody know if this product will provide methods for third party solutions? I'd love to see if I can write apps that take advantage of this device. |

I've heard one of the problems with these devices is that the lowley little Gummi-Bear can transfer a fingerprint to them.
Is this true, or is that a wives tale? Not that it would be an issue for home use. Wait, kids are awfully smart these days :) TL |
