A top executive for Web marketing company DoubleClick on Tuesday said Microsoft's MSN Web portal will use its rich media ads online, paving the way for wider use of a key DoubleClick product.
Doug Knopper, senior vice president of online ad management at DoubleClick, said the company hopes to secure similar commitments from two of Microsoft's biggest Web rivals.
DoubleClick introduced DART Motif, a product developed with Macromedia for serving and tracking online ads with complex visual or audio elements, more than a year ago. Since then, it has signed on more than 40 Web publishers to utilize the service, but none match the scope of MSN.
