Warner Home Video has announced the DVD release of Taking Lives which stars Angelina Jolie, Ethan Hawke and Kiefer Sutherland. The film will be available to own in seperate rated and unrated director's editions on August 17. Each has a suggested retail price of $27.95. The unrated edition will include a 109 minute cut of the movie, which promises a sexier and scarier version of the film. The R-rated cut (the theatrical release) runs 103 minutes. Both discs will carry an English Dolby Digital 5.1 track, along with a 2.40:1 anamorphic widescreen presentation for the unrated disc, and a full screen presentation for the R-rated edition. Each will feature an "Art of Collaboration" documentary which looks at how the filmmaking team came together, a "Profiling a Director: Inside D.J. Caruso's Mind" documentary, a "Bodies of Evidence" featurette in which the stars confess their secrets of working on an ultra-intense thriller and a "Puzzle Within The Puzzle" documentary which focuses on the teamwork of Caruso and veteran editor Anne V. Coates. Completing the package will be a selection of outtakes and the films theatrical trailer.
