False Alarm: No Extensions to NT 4.0 Support | |

On Monday morning, it looked as if Microsoft had done yet another about-face by extending NT 4.0 support past the rapidly approaching support-cut-off deadlines — despite repeated claims that it had no intentions of doing so. But by Monday evening, Microsoft was working overtime to correct any misunderstandings caused byits vaguely worded press release about its plans for continuing to offer NT 4.0 fixes beyond the currently stated cut-off period. | ||

Because the technology is 10 years old and better, more reliable, and more secure software is out there...why aren't you running Linux 1.0?
PS-Windows isn't that expensive. Especially since it provides so much more value than the competition. |

No it isn't. It's modern software organization tactics. Give factual comparative studies, document the methodologies, and give the writers opinions on his or her view.
Well #6, maybe the new kernel wasn't released yet...the documents don't automagically write themselves you know. Actually, they donate to many think tanks, and even distanced itself from some recent reports by the group. Just because A doesn't agree with your delusional opinion...Doesn't mean A is wrong. humor |

The only FUD floats around from linux/oss/gnu zealots who don't have a clue.
MS provides the longest support for any of the products available for your PC. It was high time to kill support for NT. Heck, I believe they should end support for 95, NT, 98, and ME as well, but that's asking a bit much. The 2000/XP/2003 line is the standard now, if a company can't get off it's lazy butt to set up a replacement for the aging systems then they deserve the horror that awaits them. |

| MS is doing the right thing. Stopping support for the OS, except for migration from, should be the only support they offer. |

| #18 Or fights against deploying Windows 2003 because it's not as secure as Windows 2000. Since the NSA did not release their templates seperately this time around (they worked directly with MS and included them on the install CDs), it means that the NSA has come up with a good security template for Windows 2003. Yes, mine actually has done/is doing this (and believes he is right). |
