450,000 MCSEs worldwide. Of them I know a few, they answer questins when prompted (or know where to look it up if it's wacky).
When I hit up forums, USENET, or the developer of an OSS/Linux application guess what the first thing is out of their mouths?
RTFM
And when I've read the man(ual) pages and all the documentation and that is still no help and I return with the same question, I get:
STFU, n00b
Nice. MS is right on target with that first one. OSS/GNU/Linux zealots are about useless as a technical resource; and the LDP (Linux Documentation Project) is woefully inadequate as well, what's more the LDP is mostly out of date material. Even the documentation provided by major OSS products (like SAMBA) are useless.
Linux can do a lot, but it's greatest hinderance is two fold:
(1) the documentation is lacking; and,
(2) the users are invariably jerks who get off on their power trips.
Fix both those things and you might have something. Until then, it's easier, and cheaper, to stick with Windows.
Oh, and that last quip about viruses/trojans/etc. is just a red herring. Most website defacements that take place are running linux/apache, but they don't want to talk about that...
