The Beatles have been one of the biggest holdouts in releasing their catalog for sale online, and the lack of such mega-hits as "Let it Be" and "Yesterday" has been cited as a major weakness for fledgling, Web-based music stores. Negotiators for the Beatles have talked with several companies, with a particular emphasis on Microsoft Corp's MSN, which is expected to open an Internet music store late this summer, people familiar with the talks told Reuters. | ||

I can hardly wait to be able to pay for Beatle songs on a highly compressed format where all soundstaging and focus has been replaced by a pinpoint veneer effect. All compressed music formats suck for quality. Although, if one listens to music through a computer excellent sonic quality is probably not an issue or even a consideration. | #3: You got your wish! The Beatles were a creative musical force that elevated pop music to new levels. Hendrix went even farther. Now he have rap/hip-hop as the driving force, which sounds like a lot of bitching about life to me, except for DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. |

Later Beatles efforts were pretty good. The early stuff was a bit to tenny-boppy for my taste.

| diaphanein, there are tons of lossless compressed audio formats. That doesn't solve the problem though because no one is going to release their content in a lossless format. |

| msssuck, MJ owns the publishing rights to the songs. (You know that ACAP stuff.) He does not own the rights to the actual songs. Even at that, he once owned a majority of them (but not all), and recently he sold a bunch of them back to raise money for his pedophilia. |

| Come on, guys, end this retarded contest!! You might get some more advertisers by artificially inflating your hits, but your hits were decreasing because the site was starting to suck.
