The SuSE account rep who sold the city of Munich on open-source software has been hired by Microsoft Microsoft has hired one of its worst enemies, the SuSE Linux salesman whose efforts led the city of Munich to adopt Linux and open-source software instead of Microsoft's products. Karl Aigner, formerly SuSE's account representative for Munich, is overseeing sales of Microsoft's data centre products to mid-sized companies in Germany. He began his new role on 1 April, Microsoft said on Tuesday. | ||

Regardless, a good salesman could sell just about anything and the relationship can be more important than the product or service (as MS has realized). |

Maybe he was tired of the people in Munich calling him up to complain about the crap he sold them?
I imagine if I was a Yugo car salesman, I would relish a job at the BMW dealership. |

For those not interested in this HOT HOT story... let me pick the best part for you... "The new hire will be an asset at Microsoft, Governor predicted. "He's obviously a guy who well understands the dynamics of selling to European public sector organisations, and he understands the huge difficulties that the open-source community has had in delivering on the Munich contract," NO KIDDING! Hoo wud a thunk it. |
