Jim Hugunin, creator of the Jython Python-on-JVM implementation (and central figure to AspectJ), published a paper at PyCon (an annual Python conference) on his implementation of Python-on-CLR. His results? "I found the CLR to be surprisingly good target for dynamic languages." | ||

| This is pretty huge actually. Not only because the .NET impl is 3x faster than Java and 1.5x faster than the unmanaged C implementation, but because it shows that .NET really is best for almost all languages, including interpreted/dynamic languages like Python and JScript. |
