Lindows says Microsoft on 'global legal assault' | |

Lindows Inc., the software maker embroiled in a trademark dispute with Microsoft Corp., filed a motion to stop what it called a "global legal assault," it said on Tuesday. Microsoft, the world's largest software maker, "has used their monopoly profits to fund a global legal assault on our small company to halt the adoption of Linux," Michael Robertson, chief executive of San Diego-based Lindows.com, said in a statement. | ||

It's completely irrelevant whether Microsoft is paying for its lawyers from monopoly profits or from a bake sale. If Lindows has been found guilty by a court of law, then it is guilty.
Robertson is trying to say that rich people shouldn't be entitled to justice. Nice way to ignore the simple solution: Change your friggin' name, moron! If you simply rename the darned product to EZ-Linux or whatever, and do it worldwide, Microsoft leaves you alone. This has always been an option, and it would have been just as easy as renaming your product to L--dows.com. Robertson wants to distract attention from his failing business and flopping product by playing the part of martyr. Sorry, Mike, no thumbs up on this peformance. |

I think he knows exactly what he is doing... look at how much publicity he is getting from it. It could backfire, though.
I don't get why he is still fighting this fight... Lindows doesn't even include Wine any more, so it doesn't even run Windows programs natively any more. |
