The documentation says:
----------------------------------------------------------
• Mobile device issues. Users of mobile Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) devices, such as Pocket PCs and Smartphones, which do not yet support the required EAP-TLS protocol, cannot gain remote access to the corporate network with these devices at the time of this writing. In addition, mobile devices would also need to support a Smart Card reader device, since accessing a Smart Card is required for remote access.
• Home computer issues. Home users equipped with some Macintosh, UNIX, and Linux computers are also not able to gain remote access to the Microsoft corporate network when those systems do not support the required version of the EAP-TLS protocol.
----------------------------------------------------------
This doesn't equate to "Don't have a PC? You can't connect to our Network" . It's a matter of Smart Card and protocol support. EAP-TLS is an open authentication protocol and has implementations available on Mac and n*x systems.
