Microsoft, Sun Microsystems and Cisco are among major IT vendors slammed by Amnesty International for contributing to human-rights abuses by selling technology to the Chinese government that is used to censor the internet. Amnesty International claims that by January this year, there were 54 recorded cases of people detained or imprisoned in China for disseminating their beliefs or information through the internet - a 60 per cent increase on the previous year. | ||

Headling: "User of Microsoft Products Give Amnesty to Amnesty International"
Text of Article: "I, a user of Microsoft products, am willing to give amnesty to Amnesty International for not demanding of the UN a resolution demanding that the demonic communists of China cease and desist at once their cruel, inhuman treatment, toture, and murder of their own citizens. As we are all well aware UN resolutions are just so down right effective. Did I mention that I was a user of Microsoft products?" What do you think? I have Microsoft in the title of the article AND in the text. Of course, like the original article, there is no other substantive tie-in whatsoever to Microsoft. BUT, its a great way for the article to find its way into major media outlets. Hold the presses . . . |
