Phaedrus, of course the reasons behind it and what they said and did is significant. I didn't argue that they should have chat or that they need to. But if the rationale is: it's old tech, it sucks, it's costly but irrelevent... Why didn't they say so?
Isn't it hypocrisy to say: we are doing this for the social and moral benefit of the world, not for financial or technological reasons? Isn't it dangerous, and may I add, complete bullsh!t to claim that IM is safer than chat rooms in regards to spam, porn, and pedaphilia?
