"If you reread what I said you will see that all I asked was basically if 10.2.8 was an update to the 64-bit version (10.2.7) or 32-bit version of the operating system."
And if YOU had READ the story ONCE, you would have had your answer.
"I was talking about the few problems that have come up when running some specific software and hardware on the new G5 systems."
Which ones?
Come up? I haven't heard of a single problem that wasn't entirely anticipated and understood prior to the release.
"Perhaps the problems I am referring to are not in the OS at all, perhaps the G5 just does not have a 100% backwards compatible instruction set."
Que? The G5, 10.2.7, and 10.3 are exactly what they were announced prior to release to be. If you are referring to MS's VPC issues, the 970 has little-endian support, there are simply a number of issues that will take them a long time to take care of. However, these issues reside entirely within the VPC program, and Apple and IBM have nothing to do with it.
If you don't understand it yet, I don't think you have a clue what you are talking about, and I was probing you for information about what you really do know. My answer was intended to clear up any issue that may arise and did not presume any particular knowledge or statement from you. In fact, I presumed you knew nothing. Although I also presumed you read the story, which clearly you did not if what you say was your true question was really your question.
