Byron Hinson, a co-founder of the ActiveNetwork has returned to the site after a brief hiatus. Byron left 8 months ago to form a new site called TopTechTips. Not only are Byron's news services returning to this site, he will also bring with him TopTechTips.net (which will be the first site to use the new ActiveWin layout) and the new Apple/Mac section - ActiveMac which will start work in the next day or so. | ||

Is there any need to bring an Apple/Mac Section to the Active Network? I know that Byron enjoys the Mac platform(and thats totally acceptable), but I just have this leary feeling that by bringing an Apple section there is going to be a rise in the Apple vs Windows arguments--and I for one am sick of the rants.
And whatever is decided do not, oh please do not, for the sake of God, Don't put Mac article blurbs or links on the ActiveWin frontpage!!! If people want them, let them go to the other site. The ActiveNetwork was a great idea that spawned off of ActiveWin, but really all of the other sections: the X-box section, the Hardware Section, The Gaming section, and the Dvd section are in one word: terrible. I don't want to kill the sites energy but stick to what works --this is a Windows based crowd. Just look at the # of comments on the front pages of the other sections--there aren't any. |

| #3 - ActiveXbox is currently the 3rd largest Xbox news site, it doesn't get the comments no, but there has been times it has had more clicks than ActiveWin...but don't worry the idea of the Mac section is to take any MS/Apple related stories off the front page of the site to stop anyone moaning about them. |
