Oh this is not just a case of "beating a dead horse." This is a case of m00zilla trying to appear intelligent, feel good about his or herself by looking down on someone else, and validate his or her own choices in software (presumably many non-Microsoft products). At least, that's my suspicion.
Let's take apart some of m00zilla's comments...
"Its a sorry state of affairs that a company does not know what is on theyre own web sites."
I'm sure that someone (at least one for each server) at Microsoft knows exactly what is on every server at Microsoft. With a company that large, I am also certain that no one individual knows, or can know, what is on all of them. To expect otherwise is unreasonable.
"2 possibilities..
1. They have no control over theyre own computers
2. They are lieing."
You, my friend, apparently have very little grasp of logic whatsoever. Assuming the person at Microsoft did not, in fact, know the answer to the question, you would conclude that they have ZERO control over ANY of their computers? That's about the biggest non sequitur I've ever seen!
"Half the 2000 world is downloading it now.. Not just premier partners."
I hope this is hyperbole. MOST 2000 Admins have far better things to do with their time than download suspect code.
"Something as public and as large as this and the "company spokesperson" doesnt know about it?"
I would strongly suspect that the company spokesperson does know about it. Further, if he doesn't, that's not neccesarily a problem. A company spokesperson's job is not to know EVERYHTING about the company; it's to be able to speak when the company wishes to and to RESPOND when asked a question. Sometimes responses require research, and in that job, I imagine almost all of them do.
You need to brush up on your logic and rhetorical skills, your business education, as well as your written communication skills.
Ever heard of apostrophes? Do you know where to use them? Can you spell basic words like "lying" (I believe we learned this one in 4th grade) and "their" (I believe this was 3rd grade)?
