In the opening MEC 2001 keynote speech to more than 5,000 Microsoft customers and industry partners, Paul Flessner, senior vice president of the Microsoft® .NET Enterprise Server Division at Microsoft Corp., introduced new tools and products that allow customers to extend access to Exchange from a wider variety of mobile devices, and enable easier integration of collaborative data into business solutions. Additionally, Flessner announced the next version of Mobile Information Server (MIS) 2002 Enterprise Edition, which will provide customers with over-the-air server synchronization from their mobile devices to their Exchange Server. Flessner also announced the Exchange 2000 Server Developer Enablement Kit, which will allow developers to easily design Exchange-based collaborative solutions and XML Web services.
