Well, I'm glad that Gates hasn't abused his semi-celebrity position to opine about current political situations.
A sign of intelligence and wisdom is, even though given an opportunity to offer an opinion, you reserve yourself for the correct time and place where your opinion is called for, even if that time never comes. Unfortunately his father wasn't this bright, but then, that's why Gates III has umpteen billion dollars and Gates II doesn't. I have much more respect for Gates III (_THE_ Bill Gates that everyone knows and loves/hates) for keeping his head down and focusing on his philanthropy and the alarming problem of AIDS/HIV in Africa. Whether he's for or against the war, there are millions of people suffering in Africa that he needs to concentrate on and I applaud him for staying above the fray. |

#7: Perhaps your liberal-colored glasses have tainted your logic again, Soda, but there really wasn't much of an opinion in there other than I applaud BG for staying above the fray.
I didn't comment one way or the other on the war. BG may even be for liberation of Iraq and would lay a big "Shut-The-****-Up" to the Hollywood idiots, but I think it would be very tactless for him. The Hollywood idiots have no tact, so it's better to just watch them flail around in their own stupidity like Tim Robbin's was doing on Wednesday. |

That's right, daz, all liberals are idiots. Every single one. Doesn't matter what they think, or if there are any outliers. They're liberals, and they're idiots.
Hrm, whatever, that's your opinion, I guess. I certainly didn't say that. I did say/imply that most of the outspoken hollywood idiots are idiots. Tim Robbins, Susan Surrandon, Jeanene Garafalo (sp?), Madonna, Martin Sheen, Dixie Chicks, etc. I don't think any can dispute that these people aren't the brightest folks America has ever produced. They happen to be liberal, yes, but they are first, and foremost idiots. There are liberals who I respect such as Lieberman, Al Gore (to former Al Gore, not the newly remade Al Gore we see today), Alan Colmes, John McCain :), and a few others whose names I cannot remember right now. There are many people who I respect who are anti-war, or at least skeptical about the war and Bush's foreign policy. They have legitimate arguments. But the aforementioned idiots have no legitimate arguments, they just spout off hate about Bush, Republicans, all the media whom they claim are all against them, and most of them even expose anti-Semitic sentiments regarding Israel's involvement in the war, if any. |
