It's ironic that one of the biggest complaints about Office upgrades has been that the average user does't need any new features, hasn't needed any of the new features added in the past 10 years, doesn't need more than a few basic features, etc.
Microsoft decides to agree that only high-end customers will need new features, and suddenly everybody cries foul. As near as I can figure, the only way to satisfy everyone will be for Microsoft to make the entire product and its source code available for free, not just on the web but also for Microsoft to deliver complimentary media in every person's format of choice, directly to their doorstep via the courier of their choice, on the preferred date/time of their choice, along with $1 million in complimentary cash. No, wait. British customers will most certainly complain about unfavorable exchange rates between the dollar and the pound. Scratch the whole plan.
