The latest article on CNN's Game Over reveals that Microsoft has not decided on a pricing model for the future of Xbox Live.
Microsoft has been tossing around a few ideas, according to the article, and is currently trying to find out what gamers are willing to spend on the online service. Initially, things looked easy, as Microsoft had planned on launching Halo 2, which will be Live enabled, to coincide with the bulk of renewals. However, Halo 2 has now been pushed back into 2004, causing Microsoft to think about their next step.
As of now, analysts and insiders are claiming that Microsoft is leaning toward a pricing model that would have gamers pay a $9.95 monthly fee after the year subscription is up. Another buzz in the industry has also been brewing, claiming that Microsoft may very well give gamers another year for another $50.00.
