Researchers are warning of serious security holes in two popular digital media players -- RealNetworks' RealOne and Apple's QuickTime -- that have put millions of systems at risk. The vulnerabilities, which are not related, affect the way the media players read certain file types and could leave susceptible systems open to intrusion. | ||

CNET did note these bugs, mooresa, but as jared pointed out a day late and a dollar short.
Red, you should pay closer attention: "You mean that non Microsoft software has bugs?" Yeah, but only running on Windows. The same software is not flawed on the Mac. (The Mac version of QT was patched yesterday as well but this addressed a stream issue, not a security vulnerability.) So is it the software that is vulnerable or is it the system? Sarcasm can be fun, but it can blow up in your face. |
