Gee, another slam at Licensing Program 6.0! What else is new? Well, nothing, because the Sunbelt Software survey is old news in terms of the date it was conducted (before the licensing plan was even in effect last year) and the manner in which it was conducted - completely "off the cuff."
This must be part of the open sore "master plan" to try to discredit Microsoft in anyway possible. You see it mentioned in nearly every article that touts the "wonders" of open sore.
The fact remains that there are variety of programs in which you may buy the licenses to Microsoft programs ( http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/programs/sa/saolsleacompare.asp). They provide for the small, medium and large enterprise and allow for a variety of payment plans and can be further negotiated depending on the plan. All the plans SAVE money over retail purchase.
I can tell you that the company that I work for in which we have 80,000 plus seats of Windows XP and Office XP and thousands of server and application licenses, that License Program 6.0 was a considerable savings over previous negotiated contracts with Microsoft.
I guess what's weird about Sunbelt slamming Microsoft on this is that they are a Microsoft tool seller. How can a hatchet job like their survey help sales of their products? Speaking of licensing programs, try to just buy on line one of Sunbelt's products. No way. You have to fill out a bunch of crap and then get pestered by a sales person even after you have said no (if you are not careful when you fill out their on line form, you get stuck getting their stupid e-mailed newsletter just to add insult to injury). Where is the survey for that?
