It is neither small, nor touchy feely, but Microsoft is attempting to finally live up to part of its name as it unveils its latest product - "Corporate Identity 2.0". Beta testing is in its early days but initial reviews are encouraging. The industry gorilla seeks to replace widespread opinion that it is arrogant, unaccountable and monopolistic with a new perception as a softer, gentler giant following a subtle shift in the way it deals with clients and competitors. | ||

| Halcyon - do you not realize what BRAND and CORPORATE MARKETING is? If you are unclear on this concept, just think of every Apple commercial you've ever seen. Apple's existence is a testament that marketing (image marketing, in particular) is very important. |

Halc: Pouring more money into a product doesn't make it better, it just gives it more leg room, ability to hire on more people to code, more marketing for the product, etc...
Microsoft is trying to get rid of the nasty image that most people have of them, The Great Satan of Software, as The Register call them quite a bit. It's not just 'changing the face', it's changing the entire business structure, or, how they do business with other companies, people, etc... |
