The first time "Fulgore" hacked his Xbox, he had to use a soldering iron just to get the computer chip in that would let him play pirated games. "It was fairly difficult," the 22-year-old college senior remembers, who prefers to go by his online name. He even helped a friend out - hacking his console because the friend was afraid of ruining his warranty. But now Fulgore, who has hacked nearly every gaming machine, including Sony's PlayStation and Sega's Dreamcast, rarely bothers with the Xbox. "It was a challenge early on because Microsoft supposedly put in so much security," said Fulgore. "But now it's pretty trivial." | ||

baarod, weren't you blowing smoke yesterday about cramming the libertarian agenda through the U.S. Government? And now you are saying that underaged kids should be DEPROGRAMMED for a hobby which may or may not be illegal, but whichever it is--is certainly based on a law restricting your personal rights to do as you please as an individual?
Uh, huh. I guess you are like most libertarians who don't understand the inconsistencies and self-motivations of such platforms are really just out for a tax break... Get your own ideologies stright before spouting off a bunch of nonsense. You can't seriously say that we need to deprogram people from individual behavior, prevent them from doing what they want to do, because you don't like it and then say the libertarian agenda is great just because you don't like taxes, silly. Right, so modding shouldn't be a crime. "I never spoke of any law to control the deviant behavior of these minors." But you said they are breaking the laws--if there shouldn't be laws restricting this behavior, what gives? I quote: " they percieve themselves to be unbound from any and all responsibilities, limitations and laws." Are you trying to uphold these petty laws or not? "You see, in the Libertarian world people would be held personally accountable for their actions in all cases." Right, there's no reason to legislate this behavior and there's no need or reason to "deprogram" them. "I suggested that parents should do their duty and take action when they see their kids exhibiting abberant behavior such as this." Yes, and a Libertarian shouldn't care about interfering in a family issue unless it is their own. And they shouldn't call anyone else's behavior "abberant." "We cannot rely on government to deprogram sociopathic citizens." Like yourself? "Once they've crossed the line it's too late"--such a view is not consistent with any psychology I've encountered... You are describing modding as "Sociopathic" behavior? Only a sociopath would think such a thing. And once it's started, there's no turning back? You sooo crazy... And this: "Because of the social improvements that we believe will stem from this plan we will eventually be able to lower each citizen's social responsibility over time as government contracts and these services are taken over by the private sector." Sounds like a delusional mind to me. Who is this WE? "You need to understand the moderate Libertarian stance on these issues is not about lower taxes." I didn't say it was--what I said was you want less restrictive economic policies but YOU, not we, want to DICTATE social behavior for children because YOU BELIEVE it is "ABBERANT BEHAVIOR" In other words, like most Libertarians it's a complete Cock and Bull story...
