Microsoft is to be forced to fight its regulatory battles in Europe on two fronts after a powerful coalition of technology companies disclosed yesterday that it had lodged a fresh complaint against the software group with the European commission. The move, which centres on the firm's XP version of its Windows operating system, comes at a sensitive time for Microsoft. | ||

"under fire"
"taking heat" "troubles continue" journalists never tire of using those phrases for Microsoft. I've been reading them over and over for 5 years now. And in those five years, Microsoft's revenues have tripled, profits remain at $1B per month, and now they have a broader product line than ever before. Didn't any of you have journalism majors as friends in college? Remember? They were the idiots then... and, well, now. |

I find it interesting that in the Washington Post the story reads:
"... to punish Microsoft for trying to dominate in software for handheld computers, wireless phones..." So far I have not seen that the have in fact dominated either of these markets, but it is interesting to punish them simply for trying. (I realize there are different definitions for dominate, but to me it is seperate from monopolizing). |
