As the world prepares to celebrate the 100th anniversary of powered flight, Microsoft Corp. today announced that "Microsoft® Flight Simulator: A Century of Flight" is in development and cleared for takeoff this July. With "Microsoft Flight Simulator: A Century of Flight," the next milestone in the award-winning "Flight Simulator" franchise, Microsoft celebrates 20 years of developing and perfecting computer flight simulation. "A Century of Flight" allows aviation enthusiasts to experience history at the controls of historic aircraft, such as Charles Lindbergh's Ryan NYP "Spirit of St. Louis," the Douglas DC-3 and the world's first successful powered aircraft, the Wright Flyer. | ||

Just wish they'd buy out X-Plane or perhaps at least take on some serious staff to work on their flight modeling. The engine needs some serious help...
Flight Simulator 2002 takes the cake for graphics, interface, and for the most part, features. However, the flight modeling done by X-Plane is still far superior. Unfortunately, its hard to use and costs just as much... actually more I think. Oh well, I can hope for improvement someday... Just too bad they seem more interested in looks all the time than they are about physics and realism. I'll continue to love and purchase the franchise of course, but every now and then a complaint must spew out. :) Andy This post was edited by aamendala on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at 20:49. |
