Creating Custom Effects and Transitions in Windows Movie Maker 2 | |

"To try out the new sample transitions and effects, create the "AddOnTFX" directory in Movie Maker's "Shared" install directory i.e. "C:\Program files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX" and copy to it the XML files from the "XML" directory in this sample i.e. "C:\MMSTFX\XML\*.xml". Register the enclosed DLL "MMSTFX.dll" in the sample's "Bin" directory i.e. from the command line: "regsvr32 c:\MMSTFX\Bin\MMSTFX.dll." Run Movie Maker and look for the new transitions and effects." On a smaller note, this story is the 15000th that the Active Network staff has posted since we switched to the news management system (rather than manually editing HTML) in late 2000. The impression is being given that MM2 is finished and released.
If so, where the heck is it? All I can find is the beta. Since it has no uninstall capabilities (I do NOT count System Restore as a general uninstall method - That's lame...) I won't install it. I like the described feature set, but I want the final product not beta's. Looks like iMovie and iDVD keep my loyalty for now. TL |

| TL, I'm sure you've noticed that it's out now. If you don't plan on installing it anyway, why the heck do you care where it is? |
