The Microsoft WAS web stress tool is designed to realistically simulate multiple browsers requesting pages from a web site. You can use this tool to gather performance and stability information about your web application. This tool simulates a large number of requests with a relatively small number of client machines. The goal is to create an environment that is as close to production as possible so that you can find and eliminate problems in the web application prior to deployment. | ||

Weird. This is an old tool. It's since been replaced by ACT in Visual Studio.NET.
Still, it's a useful tool. It doesn't work as well to test a whole website as some commercial packages, but it will definately test a few pages together to help identify if you have some problems. |

yes very odd, course it does some things ACT doesn't do and ACT does some things WAS cannot.. I wish they would get off there a$$ and just combine the two and include it in the next update of VS.. aghh
Why this tool is some how news is beyond me, far as I can tell the thing has not be updated in quite a long time. (been using the lastest version for years) Seems to be they just finally integrated this tool and it's site into msdn... great that only took 2 years..lol |
