Japan's major personal computer makers will be unveiling new notebook computers at this week's World PC Expo show, which begins on Wednesday in Tokyo. The new products range from 2-pound ultra portable notebooks to A4-size machines intended to replace desktop machines for power users.
Among products at the small end, Matsushita Electric Industrial's new Let's Note Light R1 machines weigh 2.1 pounds or roughly a third to one-half the weight of many of the other machines introduced. The machines measure 9.5 inches by 7.2 inches, and are.9 inches thick at the front and 1.5 inches thick at the back.
