Judge chides Microsoft for Java exclusion | |

Microsoft Corp. could be forced to give a huge boost to archrival Sun Microsystems under an opinion issued yesterday by a Baltimore federal judge. The ruling, by U.S. District Judge Frederick Motz, could force the Redmond company to include Sun's Java software -- which competes with its own .NET framework -- in its Windows and Internet Explorer products. But the legal drubbing Microsoft took from Motz in a 42-page opinion doesn't require the company to do anything yet, pending an order the judge is slated to issue early in the new year. | ||

It's sad that Judges like this use the bench as a pulpit to spount their political rantings rather than doing their job.
At any rate, as wrong as it would be to force MS to include the JVM, I kinda hope it happens because when Java fails anyhow, they won't be able to blame MS. Well, they'll still blame MS, but it will sound even more stupid than it would've otherwise. |

I am happy the Judge is taking this kind of approach (using the bench as a pulpit)!
It makes it very easy to overturn on appeal, just ask judge "PinHead" |
