One of the biggest staples in online gaming is the first-person shooter. And Unreal is one of the biggest names in the FPS market. So it was no surprise that Unreal Championship was one of the most anticipated games for Xbox Live. After all, Microsoft's online service would not be complete without a premiere FPS. Despite being the only game in town, Xbox Live-equipped gamers shouldn't hesitate to jump right into the action... but they might want to look before they leap.
The game's problems have less to do with its design -- it's a well-crafted and totally enjoyable title -- and more to with Xbox Live. Let's not kid ourselves here, UC has little to offer a player without a broadband connection to the Internet. If you're not sure about that commitment yet, I'd definitely recommend renting it and getting a feel for the game first. Playing alone, you can see if you want to dive headfirst into the world of Xbox Live -- but wait, I'm getting ahead of myself here.
