fivenorth...are you telling me that MS products are inferior to Linux? Cause I can disagree with everyone of your claims (except freedom to MODIFY the source, but why the heck would I want to do that and possibly break compat with all my other systems…MS is a better developer organization than I)
If your saying that IBM wrote this paper (it wreaks of IBM style PR) to try to switch some Linux enthusiasts from windows...they probably already running it. But if you can say the linux can match the ease of use, hardware detection and configuration (plug and play), support (PSS, although not perfect, is pretty darn good), application compatibility, application developers, developer resources (MSDN rocks!!), integration strategy with other applications, multimedia, performance (gnome and most xwindow systems SUCK...which is short for Slow, Uninviting, Configuration challenged Kludge), accessibility options, adding printers, sharing files, wireless configuration, integrated browser, lower TCO to deploy and run, etc. etc. etc...I am going to disagree with you big time. But, If you're suggesting that linux is fun to play with and learn the inards of your PC for geeks like us, I agree.
Also, if you're so in favor of free market and comptietion...why can't MS raise its prices? For gosh sakes, they haven't changed much in like 15 years.
But I sure wouldn't trust this bank with my money, no way!
