MS accused of banning mod chip Xbox from Live service | |

Microsoft's campaign against Xbox mod chips has ratcheted up a notch with the launch of the Xbox Live online gaming service. According to a posting at Got Mod?, (there's a site that's going to be pretty concerned about the issue) the company is attempting to detect mod chips when users connect, then placing them on a banned list - forever. If this really is the case then it means we're already seeing how unique hardware IDs could be used in anger by certain companies. Because it's the unique ID of the Xbox that's claimed to go onto the banned list. | ||

HA HA HA HA HA
This is wonderful but a bit scary. Ms can ban people who screw around with their systems(rightfully so, because it violates the EULSA), but what will this lead to a stronger MS tactics in their OSes? I believe that modders should be permanantly banned, but I hope MS doesn't decided to get stronger with Activiation in windows or office, because I reformat and reinstall just about every 2 weeks and I am always having to call MS to activate(and yes it is legit). |

| I actually feel sorry for the ones who just did it to get imported games, i am one of the lucky ones who has both a UK and US Xbox, but even I would have probably had mine modded if I had bought just a UK one. |
