MELBOURNE, Australia--Microsoft has stepped up action to increase software security after a rise in concerns over bugs and viruses, Howard Schmidt, the company's chief security officer said Thursday.
"We want to focus on engineering it, securing it and then deploying it so we raise the bar on security," he told a briefing here.
Schmidt is in Australia to meet law enforcement agencies and businesses. He meets government officials in Canberra, Australia, next week as part of government and industry bilateral talks on critical infrastructure protection.
