You know, for being this horrible beast everyone says they are, MS is pretty damned responsive and, for the most part, caring about it's customers.
I don't think I've ever heard of a large company who gave two you-know-whats about customer privacy. MS takes the extra effort in everything they do. Of course there are legions of Linux dorks with too much time on their hands analyzing every packet sent to or from Microsoft.com to look for anything to nail MS for.
But when you talk with the employees and managers n'stuff, they are keenly aware of the privacy and security issues facing the company and their consumers.
Windows .NET Server is pretty cool in that it ships lock-tight and there are many tools to assist in configuring security to ensure that maximum restrictions are still in place, but certain usage goals can still be achieved.
I don't know any company that focuses this much on these kinds of things.
